In 2021, there were 86,705 unsolved disappearances in the USA. For context, that's enough to fill the Wrigley Field stadium in Chicago twice over - in 2021 alone. In total, during 2021, there were 521,705 'reported' cases of people going missing in the USA. Of those cases, more than 485,000 were resolved within the year. Taking a conservative percentage of mundane explanations of 98% leaves us with 1,734 individuals who vanish without a trace in perhaps extraordinary circumstances. Spread this out over the last decade of similar figures, and the statistics are sharp and alarming.

What's going on..? And, what are some of the most bizarre and extraordinary cases of vanished people..? In this episode, we will take a look into this mystery.

hello and welcome to another episode of  mysteries with the history where I'll take you on a wild ride into the unknown the  strange and the Mysterious like you I have questions and like you I want answers there's  more to this world than most think or believe Mysteries that stretch back into murky epochs  of time that hint of other Realms other worlds and other intelligences we're on this journey  together with each episode we will peel away the layers to look for the truth hello to  all of you amazing viewers and moderators watching this show live today I am so happy  everyone could make it now in 2021 there were 86 705 unsolved disappearances in the United  States for context that's enough to fill the Wrigley Field Stadium in Chicago twice over in  2021 alone in total last year there were 500 000 521 705 reported cases of people going  missing in the United States of those cases more than 485 thousand four hundred eighty  five hundred thousand were resolved within the year now taking a conservative percentage of  mundane explanations of 98 Lee is us with 1734 individuals who vanish Without a Trace in perhaps  extraordinary circumstances spread this over the last decade of similar figures and the statistics  are sharp and alarming what's going on and what are some of the most bizarre and extraordinary  cases of vanished people in this episode we're going to take a look into this mystery and  to help me do that of course we're going to bring in Puck the puckwaji and Jamie Church  of Fade to Black radio Jimmy how's it going you know I really like this Autumn sweater  that you have on that nice kind of burnt orangey Brown it's very nice give me give me  giving me the the fall Vibes the Autumn Vibes yeah somebody gave me the idea last night  and I wonder who that was you know and see you know I'm kind of weird uh I my closet  is sorted by colors right so I was like I'm going Autumn today I got the idea last night  so there you go it's Autumn it's cold so excited about the show today Christina finally we get to  do the gods of Egypt and it was so important to me uh to to do a full 90 minutes on the gods and  demigods of of ancient Egypt but where do you want to start today well I think we should start on  the strange disappearances of Osiris yes exactly oh man Jimmy Jimmy you're just  you're just Troll and people are listening they're like what is Jimmy going  on about straight trolling straight trolling um this is uh the the point of the show where  I say amazing topic this week I just an amazing topic and uh I have to we we did what one  two three shows on Egypt right right okay three shows on Egypt and then swinging over  to this what happened what were you doing what were you researching that you went off of  Egypt uh to mysterious disappearances of people we have done quite a few shows where the topic  of strange disappearances has kept coming up usually when we do the mysteries of a certain  State there is usually like one or two just really bizarre places and um I've been following  Dave pillidus's work for quite some time now but then also just kind of recently someone just like  poked me with something and I'm like you know what I think that would make a really good topic today  and while we have done strange disappearances and The Disappearance of airplanes and aircraft  I thought let's focus on the individuals I thought it'd be really cool today well yeah uh the  okay I'm just gonna give everybody the heads up um the cases that we are going to cover today  are are so bizarre and and so strange sad okay we're talking about people that have disappeared  and in in most cases uh completely unsolved um some have been found but not alive right  so you have you have that and and and what occurred is is unresolved and very very  strange um it it's very compelling uh to me um last night you and I were uh talking  for those that were watching last night um I this is probably seven years ago or so the  topic had come up um on on fader night and in real time you know as I'm dealing with you know  calls and and stuff um I just happened to punch in to Google how many I didn't know what this  number was and and I I had a number kind of in my mind worldwide you know you know David Pilates  and and things and you know research and I had a number in mind but my number like worldwide was  in the thousands that that's the number that I had and I punched it into Google and I found out  then that in the United States the number was every year you know five hundred thousand six  hundred thousand seven hundred thousand people go missing and you step back and you think about  now globally worldwide that number is astronomical and and those are the reported cases that's  right and it's it's it's a huge huge number now how many get resolved it still leaves hundreds  of thousands unresolved you know just missing and and the the amount like the numbers that you  were just quoting here this is something that um is uh how do I say it's disturbing disturbing's  the right word it's disturbing and then when you filter through and you run the filters and you  get to the high strangeness part of it it's it's it's a big big number this isn't one or two  fascinating things that catch our attention each year it's it's you know it's a hundred thousand uh  cases of high strangeness and uh so we're going to go through some pretty fascinating cases today  I've got my all-time favorite we'll save that uh for a bit later why okay yeah yeah yeah yeah  yeah I've got you know my all-time favorite and you know it's kind of weird to say an all-time  favorite strange disappearance of somebody that's never been resolved but but it's a it it's a  case that um just for me just won't go away so we'll we'll get to that well I want to hear it  mark tasaka thank you sucker yes that one came out really good thank you um so much and I think  that before we even get into the stories which again there are a good handful let's kind of look  at um some of the patterns and like these figures are just the the ones that you mentioned the ones  that I mentioned are just the reported figures so imagine the amount of unreported vanishings or of  those that people would possibly classify as the that the society doesn't necessarily care about  and that sounds really terrible but that is also a factor that we need to include and those people  that are are that are slipping between the cracks in a sense so these again when I had mentioned  the reported cases that was in quotation marks because there are a lot of people that go  missing that we are not the public is not aware of but there are a few things that I do  want to mention pattern wise before we get into the story so that our listeners and our viewers  can kind of connect the dots themselves and to hear certain things that kind of stand out to them  after we talk about the patterns Jessica thank you so much for the super sticker and supporting the  RV fund so as many people are aware Dave politis is is the one the main researcher that looks  into strange disappearances now he's looked at hundreds of thousands of reports but there's only  maybe a few you know a few 10 20 000 if that that have really stuck out to him and that's only about  one or two percent of these cases where he's like now these are strange and he's made Mansion not a  severe weather event often happens during or soon after a disappearance supper shot thank you so  much for the super sticker as well another thing that he mentioned is that they often happen in the  late afternoon now you would usually assume that if someone goes missing or someone is abducted  right it would happen at night right because the night time is scary but that's not the case Jimmy  actually it happens for the most part from his research it happens in the late afternoon next one  is Bonnies are often found in previously searched areas Jimmy that is a big one and one that we are  that we will cover in a lot of the stories that we'll talk about today is where people hundreds  of people will look usually through forests right they'll bring in their hound dogs they'll bring in  the helicopters they'll look through certain areas multiple times and then a week two weeks a month a  year later the person or their belongings either a lot the person either alive or dead will be found  in the spot where they had searched multiple times and and here's here you know with uh David Pilates  research um and I've said this to David um first off just never go to a national park that's no  we'll just never go but they're so nice number two um traveling in a group doesn't make a  difference you would think you know don't go into the woods alone well okay yeah that's  that's a pretty good uh rule to to live by but being in a group of people doesn't necessarily  uh guarantee safety guarantee safety uh and and so number three if I said this to David if  I'm going everybody gets tied to a string I'm serious everybody if we're gonna go we're gonna  go on this Trail everybody gets tied to a string am I laughing well you could just have a Locator  Beacon instead because of being attached to everyone like if one person falls you're all  Fallen yeah what's that I said what's that iPhone tag thing find your iPhone no the the the thing  you put it in your luggage right it's got the GPS tracker and you can track it with your with  your phone I think it's called the GPS tracker everybody gets a GPS tracker uh but yeah right um uh middle of the day um and in some of these  cases uh that we're gonna go through um I don't know which one you want to start off with first  but when you have uh we have okay hold on I was gonna get into age but ages don't matter either  apparently but what is up with Bennington Vermont Bennington Vermont I'm going to say this I  haven't heard polite he's talking maybe he has Bennington Vermont out of the entire United  States maybe the world has the highest number of strange disappearances of any location and and  and you could you go through the logs everybody just go to Bennington Vermont what's up with  Bennington for you will find these stats oh man uh some one day after another you know and uh  just absolutely bizarre so I don't know where you want to start uh today well there's a few more  patterns that I want to mention and Linda Lou Who made a great point is something else that is  a part of these strange patterns is that a lot of the people that go missing a part of these strange  disappearances not just not just the missing but that one or two percent they're either disabled  they have a high intellect and those of German origin seem to go missing in strange circumstances  more often why the Germans Jimmy oh we see Germans always see gentlemen I know I know I know it's uh  um and like I said here's the other part though um the age groups the demographic here uh there  there is no pattern right I mean you've got the the very young to the very Age and and all the  way down people that are in shape uh people that are disabled right uh young uh smart it just it  did there there isn't a pattern to it uh and I think when you say connecting the dots and and  seeing the symbol that's one of the similarities that uh is that they're sometimes there aren't  anything to connect right that you can't say it's this group it's it's this reason it's it's  this area no no except for Bennington Vermont um yeah that that place is um whack when I  did the research for it for today's show this location kept coming up and coming up and I'm just  thinking what is going on now I had mentioned it um I mean I have looked into it previously but  for today's show I'm just like what is going on and I know the the the highly intellectual like  many doctors and professors that's me it like it smacked very suspicious right like if there  was some kind of abduction program being done by some secret human group or aliens I mean like  who knows why would you take the super intelligent well okay let's go there for a  second let's go there they're um uh the Breakaway civilization right a term  coined by our good friend Richard Dolan um and and the documentary you know agenda three and and so  forth uh that that ran one time on the BBC and was never seen again you can watch that documentary  about the intellect of this planet being removed and going somewhere else right the Breakaway  civilization and the high number of disappearances uh I've you know and it's a big number that they  are just completely off planet now is that now this is something that Richard has spent a  lot of time uh researching and writing about um is is it a possibility uh the the numbers  would support that you know I know it's a crazy you know it's it's way out there but and we have  to we really do have to consider everything here um there's a lot has been looked into  you know uh Bigfoot UFOs serial killers um uh you know a secret organization abducting  people uh uh human trade and trafficking and and so all of these are possibilities um and  maybe it's a little bit of everything that adds up to these big numbers I'm not sure but  the Breakaway civilization agenda three aspect to this is something that I find very intriguing  and for somebody as smart as Richard Dolan who is very pragmatic is very black and white uh for  him to come out and like I said he coined the term right Breakaway civilization and he still speaks  about this uh um uh how do I he he doesn't want to he doesn't want to sound crazy he doesn't want to  sound like a conspiracy nut he is just looking at the numbers and the facts and saying where did  everybody go so there you go all right let's that's the best way to look at it but I still got  two more things that we have to consider before we even get into the stories that are incredibly  relevant well hold on Jimmy let me just finish it all right Jennifer dogs sniffer dogs cannot  detect a scent when they are looking for certain missing people which is super bizarre another  one is a granite rock is often in the area of a disappearance and people that pick berries  what a high chance of going of yeah of going missing raspberries yeah if you're a berry picker  you better watch out so if you are super smart German and a berry picker oh you're pretty high up  there strawberry strudel will get you a blueberry strudel those are delicious every single time  well you know also also mushroom Pickers as well mushroom picking story in Canada  do you want to hear that is it and it involves Canadian customs and secret  agents in playing clothes following me what's your story uh okay I'll save that for  another time yeah just say but let's let's get into the stories now that we've kind of got a  chunk of some strange patterns and there are more hopefully we'll be able to incorporate them  while we go ahead and tell some of these stories um but Jimmy oh and actually Roger thank you so  much sniffer dogs made me LOL did you override my hides and Long Grass thank you yeah make sure  to hit the like button it really does help the YouTube algorithm okay Jimmy so let's start off  with your favorite case let's go there I want to hear it I want to go with my favorite case first  I want yes okay don't don't save the best for last have dessert before dinner okay mine is outside  it does not involve Bennington Vermont mine I'm already disappointed Jimmy Melbourne Australia  oh okay The Disappearance of Frederick valentich and Frederick valentich um was I'm saying was  a 20 year old pilot and he took off uh while on a training flight uh at an airport right next  to Melbourne 125 mile uh flight heading south over the Bass Strait uh heading towards an  island on the evening of October 21st 1978. and he was in a Cessna 182 182l to be specific  and then on on this during this flight he radios uh Melbourne Air Traffic Control and  says that he was accompanied by another aircraft one thousand feet above him and he wanted to  know you know it's pretty close what's going on right he's calling air traffic control and  and they're they're like what are you talking about and at that time during the radio uh which  has been studied and documented uh over the years um the Melbourne Air Traffic  Control hears his plane start freaking out like the engine making noise  um uh you know engines running roughly and uh uh that there was something like a metal scraping  sound and then he says it's not an aircraft all right that was the last thing he said  his transmission was interrupted by more unidentifiable noise that has been described  on the tape as metallic scraping sounds um and at that point all contact  was lost fell off of radar he disappeared and never found never seen  again his plane gone uh photos that were taken um now here's Australia right the bottom part  of Australia and here's Melbourne and he's going south down at the to the southernmost tip of uh  Australia um heading south out of Melbourne is a lighthouse and the lighthouse is called the cape  Otway Lighthouse it's in the southern uh southern end of Victoria Australia and you can look up  the Otway lighthouse on on Google Maps and you can see where it is you can see pictures  of it a plumber uh and his name uh was um Escapes Me and anyway a plumber was taking  pictures of the ocean and of the lighthouse and he caught there's like five images  this object coming out of the water at the same time as Frederick's disappearance  that's right and now is any of this connected don't know what we do know is that  uh uh Frederick Frederick valentich disappeared was never seen again he was  20 years old his plane was never found um like 20 years later 10 years later a piece of  uh a cowling from the front part of the airplane uh not necessarily his washed up on shore on an  island uh hundreds of miles away that was turned in um and they only had a partial serial number on  it and the partial serial number matched hundreds of planes and one of the planes that fell in the  hundreds number was his but we don't know if this peace was from his plane his body was never found  they searched they did everything but but that's it and uh it's it's my favorite case is it a UFO  was it an abduction did he get shot down through a portal I mean the possibilities are endless  with that story it is it is a famous one it is one that is super intriguing and you know what I'm  kind of happy that we started there I think it's starting off with Jimmy's favorite story um is  fantastic now let's talk about Keith Parkins okay um Keith Parkins now I'll let you  okay I I I I I this case this case um what what happened we went dark oh oh oh nicely played why thank you nicely  played um two years old two years old this case um I'll let you do the background and then  I'm going to go into my Fantastical part of this because uh this let's see I want everybody  to wrap their mind around uh the facts of the case as as as you hear them go ahead Christina  so two-year-old Keith Parkins also of missing 4-1-1 Fame who in 1952 was visiting Ritter Oregon  to stay at his grandfather's rural remote Ranch the area was surrounded by Forest but Keith was  allowed to play out in the yard and on this day that is where he was his grandfather constantly  checked up on him at one point the grandfather looked outside expecting to see the boy playing  as he had been just a few minutes before but he was nowhere to be seen like in the other cases  that we will be looking into and there was a massive search one that was launched and it  made all the more urgent because there was frigid bad weather set to hit that evening  right which would be almost impossible for this little two-year-old boy to survive now  when Nightfall came team Keith had still not been found and it was considered puzzling that  he could have gotten so far so quickly without a trace the search went on the entire night  and when the morning came they finally located The Boy Alive lying face down on a frozen pond  about eight miles through the rough wilderness okay this is where the story is weird and there's  quite a few like this one where you're dealing with very very small children walking extensive  lengths usually going through pretty treacherous terrain treacherous like forested areas that would  be practically impossible for these little kids to do and the fact that this boy walked eight miles  in just through through the night when it was these extreme weather conditions that is almost  impossible but here's the weird thing he had taken off his jacket despite the intense cold and his  clothes were ripped though there were no signs of physical injury this is another reoccurring theme  when it comes to these very strange disappearances Now Keith was very lucky to be found but it's  not always the case in a bunch of other stories jackets are left on the side shoes boots things  like this articles of clothing even when the temperatures are so extremely cold you will find  jackets and boots on the floor and if those bodies are found they're not going to have too many  pieces of clothing on them and for this little boy again two years old to walk eight miles in extreme  weather with no jackets okay so that makes sense this is how bizarre this case is he was out uh by  the barn with his two brothers it's lunch time you get the yell out the window let's eat right and  so they they go the brothers uh leave him behind at the barn thought that he was going to come up  to the house he doesn't come up to the house they start eating lunch you know uh where's Keith oh he  was just with us they immediately go out he's gone and uh and that was at about 12 noon at  lunchtime um at 7 00 a.m the next day uh they found his body and the Searcher that  found him they found him in skull Canyon it was um Eight Miles Away by  map but he had walked 12 miles okay it was eight miles on a map if you draw a  straight line but the path that he took was 12 miles he's two years old little two-year-old legs  in the sub freezing winter in Ritter Oregon walks 12 miles when they find him he's face down in  the snow his jacket is is lying next to him um like you said his clothes were  ripped he had scratches on his face um the they suspected maybe a mountain lion  you know he might have got a two-year-old right got I I guess got the best of a  mountain lion because he wasn't eaten um and he was found alive uh the the question  is How could a two-year-old travel that far in sub-freezing temperatures overnight I it's just  incredible I'm so lucky that he was found alive and really with no extreme damage on him to the  point where the being attacked by an animal was not an option for him there was like a barbed  wire fence uh between him and where his body was and where his Footprints were and and and  so they thought well maybe but how did he get over the fence right they did that was like you  know so she's two years old he's this big just an absolute incredible story with a happy ending  I might add but a very perplexing uh to to walk 12 miles in in the car as an adult with boots and  clothes and gloves and and things 12 miles and some he would have a hard time getting it done let  alone two years old it's just an incredible story there is another one about Catherine van Arts who  was only eight years old when she went missing now there is that I couldn't find an image of her  online and I was pretty disappointed so instead I'm just going to put a picture up for a visual  aid here we go Jimmy do you want to tell this story well um this uh this happened in Arkansas  okay and uh Devil's Den uh State Park which is a 2500 acre Park and uh they went uh the family  uh uh went to go fishing and at some point uh you know they're fishing there's a creek there and  she just vanishes and uh to hear the accounts from the family she was there then she was just gone  they started to look around for couldn't find her um and to cut to uh the family's search First and  and they couldn't find anything they call the the Rangers the Rangers get involved the next thing  you know you've got hundreds of people involved in this search this search went on for six days  six days a team of volunteers uh who were in The Forest passed by a cave after six days and  she comes out of the cave and says what's up I'm over here and they come over and uh  she was literally waving at them casually like this and um now this was um seven miles  away uh 600 feet higher in elevation where the than where the place was that she was uh had  originally disappeared but this is the thing seven miles with a straight line on the map  just like uh Keith Parkins she walked they followed her footprint 30 miles that's right 30  miles and uh on the zigzagging course um all in harsh steep treacherous insane wilderness are  you ready in her bathing suit and bare feet yeah yeah and what's there's quite a few factors that  are very interesting about this story one of them being obviously when she was found by  people looking for her they asked her like how did you survive six days what did you eat  she's like I just ate some berries here here's the question there were berries all over that  location some poisonous and some not how is she able to decipher which ones were which when she  didn't really have from my understanding doing the research for today's show she didn't have  a good grasp on the outdoors and survival and knowing what type of berries to eat at the age  of eight she wasn't upset she wasn't hungry she wasn't freaking out she wasn't crying um you know  you would think you would have been dehydrated uh a lack of water food sleep warmth every all of  that she was in her bathing suit and bare feet for six days and and somehow made it to a cave  and walked 30 miles and then just said literally I'm over here well the the girl also supposedly  made some pretty strange remarks and she explained that when she had gone missing that she had simply  been unable to find her campsite or her father and brothers despite being right near them and she  would also claim that on several occasions she had shouted out to people searching for her but  that they had apparently not been able to hear her or see her she also stated that she had seen  the tracker dogs but had been too afraid of them to attempt and approach these dogs so according  to politis she made the strange mention of how she had slept in quotes warm grass on the first  night she went missing without really in a lot like without really elaborating on this  very cryptic statement on on what it meant and that portion isn't usually talked about when  it comes to this case because it sounds incredibly outlandish does it not the whole the whole thing  is is is just nuts six days in a bathing suit and bare feet uh no food um and back to your point  the campsite where the family was gathered was 100 feet from the creek that was it so that's that's  how far of a distance and and so you can see it you know and and how uh uh again it's  back to my point traveling in a group doesn't necessarily mean that you know you're  safe tie a string everybody gets a string everybody gets a string this is a heartbreaking  case this this rips um uh one time and one time only I was in a Toys R Us with my daughter  Nicole she's like three or four years old we're literally in the Barbie section right big  aisle she's right next to me I look she's gone two seconds I had a heart attack she was standing  behind me but I to my right and she's not there I head off that way I free I turn around and she was  standing behind me but it takes that long right that little break of concentration and and I told  her I told you ever stand behind me what what you know and and and I freaked out and it tie a string  you know you just never know and uh so anyway um the uh the distance between the creek  and the family a hundred feet many family members were there they turned around  blinked and she's gone and disappears for six days and as a parent that just  freaks me out I had a good ending but wow yeah six six days of panic and not not  every parent is that lucky when it comes to to this to these situations such as David Gonzalez  in 2004. and this one is also a really wild story I do have a picture of him and I'm going to share  my screen when it feels like working but here is an image of David Gonzalez yeah I went I I went  through this case um this was you know here in Southern California and this was a big case I  saw this this picture every night on the news uh for for quite a long time and uh heartbreaking  just heartbreaking go ahead I'll let you finish so this took place at about 8 A. M in July in 2004  and David Gonzalez asked his mother if he could have the car keys there was a delicious box of  cookies in the car and the nine-year-old wanted a treat now this car was only about 50 yards about  46 meters away and his mother watched him as he walked to the parking lot near the Big Bear Lake  campsite uh right in Northern California and she turned for a second just the same way you did  Jimmy and when she looked again to find her son he was gone so his mother had reported that she  heard no sound at all when when um she turned back around and the only thing that she could remember  was that she saw a beige truck speeding out of the campground around the time that her son went  missing but since there were no signs of abduction authorities didn't pursue that specific lead now  the cookies that David wanted to get were still in the family's locked van so David never even made  it to the car so rescue teams did a an eight-mile search around the woods attempting to look for  him but they found no signs of struggle or of the boy and the search went on for nine days but The  Rescuers never found him alive almost a year later hikers stumbled upon the boy's remains about  a mile from his family's campsite authorities initially chalked this up to a mountain lion  attack because there was one spotted during the time of his disappearance but how could have a  mountain lion silently dragged a nine-year-old boy a mile away without leaving any blood or signs of  struggle right if you were to hear if you were to get bitten or chewed up by a mountain lion you or  David anyone else would be screaming for his life but there were no signs of blood no signs of  struggle and the autopsy determined that any marks made were only done by Scavenging animals  nothing more yeah yeah no no evidence of a mountain lion attack and there were no mountain  lions seen there and certainly everything that you just indicated there would have been a blood  trail that would have been signs of a struggle uh and Witnesses would have seen a mountain lion  running in and out that part of this um uh that theory just uh has never held up and the other  part is the this area he was found a mile away they searched this area extensively I mean this  was a big big case here in Southern California um you know just 50 miles uh you know uh you  know Big Bear San Bruno Bernardino just right at the road you know and it was it was a  a a very big media event uh a huge search um and you know what first off it's a it's  a it's a boy that goes missing nobody wants that but the second thing is that you get  into is it an abduction is it a murder uh the parents family uh uh boyfriend ex-hus you know  everything everything was looked into in this case um and and there you go and he was found uh a  mile away in an area that was heavily heavily searched over and over again and he only wanted  to walk 50 yards to the car which is really not that far and he just wanted some cookies and he  never made it back nature Camp thank you so much um for the Super Chat she states politis said  on Coast to Coast that he was in a forest when suddenly all sound stopped do you think this might  have happened to the missing actually you know uh unanswered questions right we haven't  heard from them missing to ask him that right uh and and if you find  somebody that is a Survivor um I think that is an interesting question  uh to to get to them you know did did all sound stop was there something uh unique about  when you disappeared and and when it happened um I've I fortunately have never been in the  in the forest when all sound has stopped but uh if it does I'm going to make sure my string is  tight I'm going to make sure that string is tight I'm not making light of this tie a string  to everybody that and and I remember um his name was Tim and he ran a s a chain of  stores I don't want to get any more involved in than that but uh one day uh um I'm getting  together with him for a meeting and he comes in with his kids and he's got like eight  they all had backpacks on and they're all in a row tied together with a string  and I was like that's awesome because nobody gets lost I was like right on and yeah  there's a little string but smart smart smart to to answer um nature Cam's question we do  need to keep in mind that the forest is a very loud place it is loud you're dealing with insects  you're dealing with all types of bugs or dealing with wind which rustles the leaves and the trees  and the shrubs and the bushes and things like this um it's a loud place so the fact that Dave  was able to be in the forest and just not hear anything it's gonna stand out to you like a  story for a lot of reasons uh uh animals uh is it an earthquake is there a storm coming  is Bigfoot walking around right and and if your nature and you don't want a predator to  uh know you're there what are you gonna do you're gonna stop moving right right right right  right right right so that's that's to the point uh and that goes with anything right mountain  lion a bear you see something like that I bet you it gets real quiet man everybody's just right  hiding behind a tree yeah yeah absolutely so yeah I think we can also think outside of the box here  just for a moment and and speculate on this that maybe some of these people that go missing  or even Dave politis in this one particular encounter that maybe he walked into a different  environment possibly into a portal now I know I'm sounding like a little outlandish here but it  is something that we have to consider as well when we have these conversations is looking at  every single type of possibility what if you just walked into another environment yeah you know  I told you the story last night I won't repeat it now but uh I was not everyone's heard it go  ahead tell the story I was 15 years old and me and four or five of my buddies uh went fishing and  parked in a parking lot had to walk I don't know 200 yards through the the woods on a path to  come out to Geist Reservoir and we got lost and we got lost and separated for hours like four  five six hours and somehow I it's embarrassing to talk about but we got lost and we got separated I  eventually made it back to the car I think I had one friend still with me eventually everybody made  it back out and it was uh you know and I I look back at that and and think about it how dangerous  that was and stuff but a year later same parking lot maybe even the same group of friends uh walked  same walked right out and straight out to the lake and I remember you know we're out there we're  fishing like how did we get lost you know how how did that happen but we did and it can happen  you know you don't have to be two years old you know we were 15 years you know it was 16 I had  a driver's license so I was 16. and uh yeah yeah it happens the only time I've ever encountered  missing time is when I take naps I never know what time it is what day it is even what year it  is when I wake up when I do right now get sleep um a couch crew chief brings up an interesting  point as I've been a hunter and I've been in the woods a lot there are plenty of times when the  wood goes dead silent you can literally hear a leaf pop as if it falls from the tree I'm happy  you bring this up um a crew chief do you have an idea of when moments like these occur when the  woods which once again are very loud places would go silent in an instant if you have an answer for  that I would love to hear it in the live chat so Jimmy where do you want to take this What story do  you want to cover next James Tedford 100 this is the the this has got all of the crazy in it um  yeah I'll get to the end of the story too as well still I'm not gonna do it first right  you're not gonna bring the ending he's still he's still gone all right so  yeah so check this out James temper 1950. Bennington there it is right there Vermont St  Albans Vermont and Bennington Vermont now if um there's two sides to this uh  Adventure that we're gonna get into um Bennington Vermont to Bennington triangle  which is here that's on uh the Border uh with Massachusetts uh to the South you can see  Albany New York right there and then if you go north which is where this journey ends  you come up to Saint Albans Vermont which is on the border with Canada okay so he started  in Bennington was last seen in Saint Albans um now things started to get strange in the  life of James Tedford uh following his return to Vermont at the end of uh his his trip in  the military service at the end of World War II all right he comes home after the war um  uh back to Benton Vermont and he goes home to find his wife Pearl has vanished all right  that's not even the crazy part of the story no trace of her the property uh that they  rented um in Fletcher Vermont uh uh had been left abandoned now his family claimed no knowledge  of the whereabouts of his missing wife they said that they had last seen her when she was heading  to the Amaco store in Franklin but they never saw her again now he moves back into the house he's  desperate he's lonely and he decides he can't take it anymore and he checks into a soldier's  home in Bennington somewhere around 1947. all right now he's living in a VA home soldier's  home in Bennington on December 1st 1949 his family reports him missing what had happened  was he had gotten on a bus in Bennington had an eight-hour bus ride up through Vermont and  was going to end in sane albums that was and he never got off the bus police investigations  and reports show that he boarded a bus in Saint Albans a few days earlier Tedford was seen  Sitting On The Bus by 14 other passengers they all testified to seeing him there sleeping in his  seat when the bus reached his destination however he was gone and the driver and other Witnesses all  testified that they had not seen him leave the bus Tedford was as seen getting on the bus and Saint  Albans by multiple Witnesses and was seen still on the bus at the last stop before arriving in  Bennington somewhere between the last stop in Bennington he just vanished and the crazy part  to this whole story as if it wasn't just bizarre enough all of his belongings were still on the  luggage rack and a local bus timetable lay open on his empty seat never seen again never surfaced  just disappeared that that is one of those odd stories where it doesn't actually place  international Park a national forest this took place on a bus on a bus out of all  places in Bennington Bennington Vermont and now uh I want everybody to take a look at uh  the the image that uh Christina has got up here the the Bennington triangle as as they call  it there has this is one of the most bizarre areas uh in the world I talked about this at the  beginning of the show the amount of disappearances and we've got more we're not stopping here oh  we've got lots of Bennington action uh about to head your way it's such this is I love rabbit  holes I love a good conspiracy I I I it's one of the funnest things to do is a you're trying to  solve it right nobody else has solved it so let's see if if you can solve it and just start it and  you go and one breadcrumb leads you to another and when you find out about the high strangeness  in Bennington which by the way Christina is so well documented I mean this is um as  far as true crime investigators and people that are out there True Crime podcast I'm  sure that there's a Bennington podcast out there there has to be they're just there and if  there's not Christina we're going to start one amen there's a lot going on not just strange  disappearances but you're also dealing with um Cryptids to my understanding as well it's  just a really weird Hot Spot very much like the Bridgewater Triangle in Massachusetts now I  haven't come across any stories of Puck wedgies yet right there in Vermont it is just wait a  little bit we'll we'll get there we'll get there Amelia thank you so much for the Super Chat it  says time is perceived differently by different people that is a very interesting point to make  especially when we are dealing with this topic today there are a few cases where people that  go missing and that come back which is a very lucky few they encounter some type of missing  time where they don't remember the days or weeks that happened prior they don't know how they got  to the location that they did and while we think that time is linear the more research that I've  been doing on all of these topics times a little bit more complicated than the majority of us  assume it to be yes I have the 100 absolutely absolutely like it just happened uh I told  Christina before the show I said I'm expecting um something to arrive that I have to go  and sign for and so when when it's here I'm gonna go sign for it and be right  back and I did it and you didn't even notice I was gone no I didn't even notice  when was this I'm about 15 minutes ago that's it really yeah watch the tape you didn't  notice I didn't notice now I have to watch it back everyone pause I love it let me go on YouTube  let me just make sure yes yeah everybody else is gonna say we saw Jimmy leave I did it well while  we're on the topic important I am to this show there you go all right Paul jespin let's go  there Bennington Vermont we're still on that topic man man oh I've got some others I've  got some more benningtons too as well I do I do eight-year-old Paul Jessman was waiting in  the family vehicle after he and his mother had driven out to care for the family's pigs they  had a pig farm the Hogs right okay she left him in the pickup truck for less than a half an hour  and when she returned Paul wasn't in the truck now Paul's mom searches the area can't find  him she calls the police the police show up um huge search party Bloodhounds right tracker  dogs you brought this up a couple of times now um in this broadcast the trail went  cold now here's here's the thing pigs Hogs I'm just gonna go there because  there's no truffles did they did they eat did they eat eight-year-old Paul Jasmine  I know it's it's a horrific thought right but this is one of the theories that  came into play here that maybe Mom knew something that's true and and  it's it's a horrific thought but nothing and the Bloodhound apparently did  have a track on them but then it did get cold um it's an absolutely fascinating case do you  have anything to add the dog was able to pick up a his scent but abruptly lost the trail at a nearby  Crossroads now there was some speculation and then that's where a motorist came in and abducted Paul  but it's it's a cold case we don't really know what happened but what's really interesting based  on what the father told the Albany Times Union was that the mountains were luring in Paul and that he  couldn't stop talking about it for days prior to his disappearance now is that relevant with this  story someone say yes some would say no but I find that really interesting that when the father was  interviewed during the time that his people were looking for his son all he could state was it  was the mountains they were luring him in and he wouldn't stop talking about it for days and  then all of a sudden he disappeared did he go did he go there we don't know hold on everybody  I gotta I do have to take this call hold on hey Linda I'm actually live with Christina Gomez right  now can I call you back in about uh 20 minutes okay bye Kurt we gotta we gotta make um an elf  outfit for pocket now I don't know how to sew but I I can make arrangements to give Puck a cute  little costume to keep him warm during the winter okay where were we oh oh Paul okay so um uh  it's in uh there's a there's a guy Richie movie um that uh uh with with this character  named bricktop uh who's a gangster now a long story short bricktop would dispose  of the bodies at his pig farm and and he there's this line of dialogue in there that  uh they you know and he says he describes how pigs eat everything bone everything they  leave nothing behind and he goes hence greedy as a pig right and that's where that saying  comes from and now I'm not trying to get all dark and morose here but uh you have a pig farm you've  got a missing child people are going to the authorities are immediately going to suspect that  and and this was something that the family could not Escape for a long time but um he disappeared  and here's the here's the other crazy part after he disappeared in 1950 another victim went misting  just two days later two in Bennington Vermont 53 year old Freda Langer an experienced hiker  and Hunter was part of a hunting party that was camping and enjoying the fall season she  walked back to Camp after leaving her cousin on the trail they weren't tied together with a  string she had fallen into the creek and gotten wet and so she wanted to return back to base  camp to change into dry clothes her husband who was a nursing who was nursing and injured knee  back at the tents never saw she never arrived when the cousin returned they both began  to search nearby with no luck Langer wasn't seen until her remains were found not far  away from the Long Trail six months later no explanation Bennington Vermont that's the place that you want to avoid see  him's like he you should see the list the list of missing people in in Bennington Vermont as  Roe said need that string that string you know or a Locator Beacon you know I I know everybody  thinks I'm just you know like being funny ha ha and I'm being Cavalier I'm not I'm not at all you  know if um I talked to David Pilates about this um a couple of times it's really true  if you've got four or five six of you and you're going up a trail don't lag behind  don't and if you are second and last in line constantly turn around and check constantly  don't let somebody fall behind because the next thing you know you're going to  get separated that distance going to get a little bit further that person can take  another turn they don't see where everybody's going and that now you guys are separated  and within a few minutes bad stuff happens so we do not if you are with a group of people do  not allow somebody to lag behind at all stop and wait stop and wait stop and wait keep the group  together and this is an example of that right here and that is life-saving information because it's  so important things that we need to consider that when we're in a group it doesn't mean that we're  always safe and you're right the the lag or the person in the back which in this case is usually  me okay you you always want to make sure that they're doing fine but here's the thing if you  look at them and then you come back you look at them again they're going to vanish just like in  so many of these instances where you look away just for a moment a moment and then they're  gone that's it that's it that's it never let um just don't let that space just what you  know and hold their hand I um uh I was at uh I'm gonna make this really quick um I hiked  Mount Waterman and mount Waterman it's beautiful um on the edge of the Mojave deserts and and  I went up there with uh a husband and wife I I worked with this guy Gary and we go and we hike  to the top of Mount Waterman it was incredible while we were up there on the top it's Flats  covered with these rocks and it's incredible and and the view and while we were up there this fog  rolls in and we were in the middle of the day and we're watching it come up there and it was really  cool it was like it was like clouds Blowing by you all of a sudden you couldn't see and uh and we're  wandering we're at the top of this mountain and uh uh anyway now we're yelling for each other  eventually we get back together now we've got to find the trail down you can't see now going up  the mountain going up the trail we're walking by Cliffs Cliffs on the trail and now I can't see  those Cliffs the fogs and it's like oh man this stretcher's thing well you know this is it this is  it we're all gonna die on the top of this mountain today so now we had to hike down we eventually get  to the trail and we're walking and I'm I'm serious going up and it took like three hours four hours  to go up all the way up I'm thinking to myself don't lose your footing you're gonna fall for a  half a mile don't lose your footing don't lose going back down in the fog I couldn't  see the cliff I couldn't see the edge it was only fog it was bizarre and we had to  sit um we had to walk within an Arm's Reach of each other going back down the hill because  we didn't have string and here's the thing I'm not making light of this this is an  opportunity for people to get lost and get separated and really a bad situation uh you  don't expect it going up going back down these things can happen instantly this fog rolled in  uh within minutes minutes Christina it was nuts deranged lunatang asks a question do you ever do  people ever disappear in pairs what do you know about that uh um again I'm going to uh divert  over to David Pilates I've asked him about this um uh you know and his advice you know always  you know being in a group doesn't necessarily guarantee things but it's better that  you're in a group than being alone um now people disappearing in pairs  yeah I I just think that's rare I think it's rare um his last not this last  movie but the movie before the last one um there are a couple of cases in there uh that  were dealing with law enforcement and the sheriffs and and and Hunters that had gotten separated and  lost um absolutely incredible experienced tracker hiker Hunters boots things right equipped  and still blew it yeah yeah nature cam says and thank you for the Super Chat she says I  take a paper map with me whenever I go hiking um that is so good because when you do it on your  phone right you can lose reception your battery can die out at any moment so having a paper map  is so important but I will be the first to admit I am not too familiar on how to read a paper map  I know it sounds terrible and I need to practice on that but I just I just didn't grow up with  telling my parents okay now turn left here on this road it's just not a part of my generation  so when it comes to paper maps I find it a little bit taunting but something that I need to push  myself to do can you get can you work a compass yeah that's the one on your cell phone yes I know  I know how to definitely work a compass okay um but but here's the thing Jimmy mobile GPS tracker  is definitely what Dave politis advises anyone who goes camping or hiking in the forests with so  they can always be located because it transmits to a satellite so that you can always be found now  you can't always depend on your phone which which so many of us do but when it comes to practicing  safety one paper map nature can't totally agree with you but also having a mobile GPS tracker is  crucial and lastly telling your loved ones where you're going to be and how long you expect to  be hiking or traveling yeah you would learn how to read a paper map if you're lost in the woods  in seconds I guarantee you'd figure that out you would you would figure you would you I I'm totally  with you paper map folded up uh in your backpack um it will save you now you can't depend on a cell  phone also battery could go dead you know and what happens if that if that goes down so there you go  exactly oh um for those that are are asking the mobile GPS tracker is like is the same thing as  a Personal Locator Beacon just under a different name if you're everyone's wondering about that  one because I mentioned Locator Beacon a few times because it's the first time I mentioned  mobile um GPS tracker but they are the same and again if you're gonna go traveling they're a  little bit expensive but they will save your life I don't think they're that expensive no but  I mean they're they're more expensive than a compass and a and a paper map okay all right okay  let's go to Alfred Bill hearts Beale Hearts 19 38. well I have an image of this one let me share my  screen here while I do that give us the rundown Jimmy I was just reading the comments he has  a Jimmy definitely disappeared for a couple of minutes Christina right there in the comments  doing a monsoon and if you can highlight it okay uh see another another example of missing  time in Bennington Vermont Alfred Bill Hearts 1938. this happened in Colorado Rocky Mountain  National Park um now okay as I tell this story um the Stanley Hotel okay one of the crate The  Shining okay Stephen King that's where this incident happened that's  right are you ready I'm ready okay so Alfred was on vacation with his family at Estes Park  Colorado to fish now you've seen the paranormal investigators that do the Estes method right  where they put on the sensory deprivation they put on the mask and they at yeah it's called  the STS method you know why it's called the Estes method because it was invented at  the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park Colorado family was fishing okay now everybody got  everybody got a sense of what's going on here while hiking in Estes Park next to the  Stanley Hotel with his parents on a trail that ran along the creek Alfred  fell behind and vanished that's right I thought you were going to mention the string  at that point once the family could not locate Alfred after conducting a search they called  in park rangers who believing that he may have drowned in the creek the park rangers dammed up  the creek that's right and they dragged the creek for his body but they found nothing Searchers then  conducted an on land search with bloodhounds The Bloodhounds uh that were called in but the trail  went cold the search was called off after 10 days that's right now one of the uh and I'm sure you've  got some stuff that you want to add to this but hikers in a different part of the park claim  that they saw a small boy on an elevation up High um and uh which is called Devil's Nest  on Mount shapen and uh along this road called The Old Fall Road now according to the  sighting the boy sits on the edge of this cliff and the hikers look up at them and they see him  and then somebody grabs him and pulls him back right the identity of the person uh who jerked him  back was never established the hikers contacted Park officials who sent um a search party up  to the cliff top um 150 men and members of the Civilian Conservation Corps nothing they found  nothing he was never found again sometime later he was supposedly cited walking along a  road with a man in Nebraska now a couple of other things happened um that turned out  to be a hoax it was like five years later they got a ransom letter in the mail demanding five hundred dollars or something and uh and that  proved to be a hoax Alfred was never seen again ah and and this is one of those kind of odd  stories that in a sense is kind of an outlier when it comes to these very strange disappearances  because as you had mentioned two other hikers saw him sitting on the edge of the cliff and then  saw somebody else just kind of pull him away so it could have been a child abduction more so than  something a little bit more paranormal but in this area where he was seen by those two hikers it was  about six it was about a six mile travel from his original destination and Uphill over 3 000 feet as  well so that's that's pretty difficult for him to do obviously but even if he was carried um by by a  fit it's still hard yeah yeah yeah and and I know we're at the end of the show so I just want to  say this really quick in in reference to this case um I always felt that he was abducted  at the scene and was taken by his captor um and they were you know up off of Old Fall  Road and and went up to this cliff and that he wandered away and went and sat down and then  he was pulled back and then they continued on their way very well you know may have gone to  Nebraska that that could have been a real sighting um I don't think he walked up to  the cliff I think he was abducted um this was a great distance away from where  he disappeared um so uh I I again uh I think that the hiker's sighting was a real one you're  not going to see a little boy dangling his feet off of the edge of a cliff and have it be a  different you know different boy I think it was the same I think it was Alfred and and they  they cited him it's um again it's just one of those really really odd stories and there's one  more I want to mention it's a very short one um this one is actually it's more of a legend  than an actual documented disappearance but one that's pretty darn famous and this takes  place in the Hoya bachu forest in Romania so first off you don't know about this Forest um  I talked about this right before Jimmy became a co-host on Mysteries with the history and it's  just this really ominous Forest where you have trees growing very strange and I have a picture  that I'm going to um share here but also you have um stories of strange disappearances UFO  sightings the Paranormal everything that is weird happens here in Hoya in the Hoya bachu  Forest but years ago a five-year-old girl got lost in the forest and a big search was organized  but unfortunately she was nowhere to be found so people lost hope and attempting to find her but  five years after she disappeared she showed up again alive and well but here's the weird thing  she was wearing the exact same clothes that she wore on the day of her disappearance and she  looked the exact same as she did five years ago she didn't age at all and when people attempted  to ask this girl like what happened to you are you okay and she's like I was only gone for a  few moments what are you talking about and so it's believed that for the people that have done  the research on this Legend and I really want to say that very clearly this is merely a legend  but people that have looked into it think that maybe she might have walked through a time  portal of some kind where for her time was only a few moments but for everyone else it was  five years and I think when I first came across the story this was like when I was really first  doing the research into the mysterious aside from like UFO cases and I saw this and I'm like that  story is so extremely weird have it be a true story or just merely a legend I think that it is  something that you definitely want to bring to the campfire with you when you talk about this pretty  scary type of forest yeah it's a great story you just said it so well right whether it's  Legend right um you know it's uh you know myth um urban legend or whether it's factual it  really happened it's a fascinating story and it's not the it's not the only story  like that uh that that that are around um there's the um one of my favorite stories  uh this uh two sisters are visiting Versailles in France and uh Versailles very big right and  they're on one edge of it and and they're walking through and they come and they come you know  through these uh uh rose bushes and they come out to a party now they are this is this is  happening in around 1950 okay they come out into like 1890 no cars no nothing everybody's dressed  and there was a party going on at this mansion and they walk up to it and they're they went  through some kind of time slip some kind of Time Warp they walk back and they go back to their  family and they're telling everybody about what just happened they go back the mansion's empty  there's nobody there right it's like now if this is a a very documented event um now whether  the sisters were telling the truth or not um but the event itself is is is very documented  and you can go and look into this where um the possibilities of this happening like  with uh this girl in the Hoy abachu Forest um to her it was an instant and to everybody else  it was five years it's it's such a weird story and I definitely recommend those two check out the  reports and the stories on that for us because it's crazier than the Bridgewater Triangle or even  Skinwalker Ranch and it it is steeped in a long history of strangeness UFOs Cryptids mutilations  and ghosts and disappearances and even to this day locals in the towns and Villages close by  will not go there day or night because they truly believe that it is haunted you have to be  pretty darn courageous to go through that Forest Christina thank you what a great show  what a great show what a great show um I've got uh I've got I've got to run um and and  wrapped this up because I've got a show tonight um everybody so I'll see you over there I've  got Linda Moulton Howe uh I'm with this tonight but just a just a perfect show and a perfect day  Christina thank you so much Jimmy I'll catch you later bye bye as he mentioned this was an awesome  show out of all the cases that we covered today which one was your favorite let me know in the  live chat or let me know in the comments below for myself I mean these are all pretty sad stories  I think the only one that had a happy ending had to do with Catherine who went missing when she  was eight years old wearing only a bathing suit and no shoes and then she was found six days later  um that story is pretty darn interesting I would like to mention that tomorrow is weekly strange  news at 3 P. M PST show so make sure to hit the notification Bell on YouTube so you do not miss  the live show I want to wish you all a wonderful week or a wonderful day if I see you tomorrow  be safe and remember keep your eyes on the skies
