A renowned Chilean astronomer just publicly mocked the entire concept of UFOs during a congressional hearing. And trust me when I say the story gets more interesting with every single sentence. We'll also be covering the new proposed drone law created by Representative Tim Burchette, giving people permission to shoot them down. And of course, talking about Texas and the UFOs there. I'm Cristina Gomez, and welcome to this episode of UFO News Updates. Hey, ufologists. This episode, I could actually not be more shocked by the astronomer that we are seeing on screen right here. In today's age, twenty twenty five, everything that comes out of this man's mouth is unbelievable. It's truly unbelievable. We got to talk about this because there's a lot to cover, a lot of statements that he's made, his background, what he researches. So let's talk about that. Hello to everyone catching this live, by the way. And Here in this congressional hearing, we're covering a very controversial moment that has the entire Chilean UFO community talking. Because this guy right here, this Chilean astronomer, like I said in the very beginning, publicly mocked the entire concept of UFOs during the congressional hearing that took place just a few weeks ago. But it's just hitting U.S. news. Let me introduce you to Jose Maza Sancho, the guy right here. And he's not just any astronomer. He was born in nineteen forty eight in Chile, and he's essentially like the Neil deGrasse Tyson of South America with a doctorate in astrophysics. physics from the University of Toronto, has been a professor at the University of Chile since nineteen sixty eight. And his work is on super supernovas, dark energy and cosmic expansion has earned him international recognition. Oh, and guess what? He's also won awards. He's published over one hundred and twenty five scientific papers and his book. We are Stardust has made him a household name in Chile. Now, on February twenty seventh, twenty twenty five, the Chamber of Deputies Committee on the the environment gathered for what should have been a pretty routine hearing. OK, it was just it was focusing on the government a little bit about the observatory issue. in the Atacama region as well. But then this journalist that we're seeing on screen right here, he he breaks away from the script. He's not as many questions about the environment. No questions about the observatory, but he asked a burning question that a lot of us have. He says very shyly, actually, in the video clip that I saw, and he's kind of laughing, like getting ready to prepare himself to be like – I think punched in the face. And he says, so, you know, you work in an amazing observatory, one of the best in the world. And you guys would be the first to know flying saucers. Like, have you seen them? And this doctor over here rips this man to shreds. And I, twenty twenty five. I am so shocked. So this guy, his name is Deputy Cristobal Martinez of the Independent Democratic Union. And like I said, he asked that question about flying saucers. And. The way Mazza addresses it, I have the quote here. It says, nope, we've never seen anything. In reality, that's a joke. But then he goes even further, not only classifying the question as a joke about UFOs, but he digs a hole even deeper for himself. Because then he says, the nearest planets are thirty, forty, or fifty light years away. We could go now... Alpha Centauri is four light years away. It could take us forty thousand years. If anyone offers, we'll go. But it's only a one way ticket and it will take forty thousand more years to come back. It's already passive aggressive. His his answer gets worse. Because then he says, it's a joke. It's absurd. Now, I don't know, but this is like a fairy tale. Santa Claus with flying reindeers. Flying reindeers. So he's not only poo-pooing on the UFO topic. He's comparing it to a fairy tale, to Santa Claus. Oh, and by the way, he also mentions Peter Pan. I just, I just, I feel for this guy, and not in the good way. So this incident, it goes viral across the Chilean media. And then you have T-Thirteen and BioBio covering the story extensively, like one of the screenshots from the article here. And There's even clips of the question being asked and the frustration by the doctor. But then he's getting this heat. The astronomer is getting this heat of like, how could you be so mean? How could you say that about UFOs, that it's just a fairy tale? You're comparing it to Santa Claus and Peter Pan. So he tries to prevent damage control. Like, that's what he's going for. And so then he gives an interview on March twenty seventh. And he says that he wants to clarify the statements. He's like, guys, guys, guys, that's not what I meant. That's not what I said. I wasn't poo-pooing on the journalist. But he says, quote, the truth is you see so much, so much in the media about UFOs, tarot cards, numerology, that, well, for me, it was an opportunity. An opportunity for what, exactly? To just make fun of everybody? Because it's not a good look. But I'm assuming here an opportunity to set the record straight, as he might say. And then he continues, it's being in a very important place to show that in reality, we know nothing about UFOs because, here's the kicker, they don't exist. If I told you I hit the worst part, I haven't. I haven't yet. Because then there's more of the story. And more going back a few years, actually. Because he cannot fix this damage control. Not just that congressional hearing that took place in February. But things that he said in the past, in previous interviews, written in previous Chilean articles. This man can't save himself. Because then... He talks about the U.S. congressional hearing, the one with David Grush, the one that changed the narrative of UFOs, where we got the new word that we place in our vocabulary now, non-human biologics. The U.S., we were so pumped that the Congress and the Pentagon are talking about this publicly, taking it more seriously, showing no more ridicule to this topic. Well, this man right here, he gets a whiff of it. And he says, and actually I have the quote here. I don't understand why they let Grush speak. They should be more serious in the U.S. Congress. Superman and Santa Claus are concepts much more real than this alien series. I'm done. I'm done. Why would you be so mean? Especially, this is why it matters. If it was anybody else, I'd be like, ah, they're just blowing smoke up there. This is so dumb. But this man, with his stature, writing hundreds of scientific papers, looking into supernovas, looking into black holes, which we thought didn't exist, what we thought could never happen, that we thought were impossible. He's researching that. And we need to apply that same mentality to UFOs. But his response is very outdated for twenty twenty five. I mean, here's a man who's dedicated his entire life to exploring the greatest mysteries of our cosmos. Someone who literally wrote the book called We Are Stardust. Here it is. And yet he can't apply that same sense of wonder to the UFO phenomenon. And think about this. This is happening at a time when governments worldwide are actively investigating these encounters across the world. Then we have military footage. We have radar data. We have military sensor confirmation, kind of. And we've seen these objects perform maneuvers that simply cannot be explained. We have thousands, if not millions, of witness testimony globally. So his argument about this interstellar distance is going to take forty thousand years. Why aren't you applying our very own Lame. I'm going to use the word lame here. Lame technology that's so primitive to entities, to planets, that are twice as old, four times as old as planet Earth. Like... This like this gives me a headache. Okay, that's astronomy one on one in the quantum physics world. And for someone who studies phenomena like dark energy and cosmic expansion, it's almost embarrassing to see how he how he overlooks concepts like Instead, he's looking at wormholes, quantum entanglement, or the possibility of technologies that are simply beyond our current comprehension. Even exotic matter. I bet this man has thought about that as well. So as you can tell, I'm a little flustered. I'm a little upset with this man's background, with all the work he's done. And he says something different. UFOs don't exist. I don't know what you're talking about. You can compare Santa Claus to UFOs because they're in the same category. This is why. This is why we can't have nice things. Chile, this man, he's behind. In the progressive thinking when it comes to UFOs, when I came across this article, I genuinely thought I was reading something that was satire. Truly, truly, I was shocked. I was like, really? In this day and age, we're having people like this say these things? What do you think about this? What are your thoughts? Because this incident raises some important questions. How do we bridge the gap between traditional scientific thinking and unexplained phenomena? Should respected scientists be more open to discussing these topics seriously? Let me know in the live chat if you're catching this live. Let me know in the comments because I'd like to read them over because it's a genuine question that I have for you. what do you think we should do I'm going to give you a moment to answer that in the live chat because I want to read them out loud I'm I have I have questions and I I need to know I need to know what the heck is going on as you can tell I'm worked up about this one look at him he's like I'm such a great astronomer Pose is like the foundation of astronomy in some ways, in some ways. You know what he needs to talk to? He needs to talk to Avi Loeb, be a part of the Galileo project, have his mind just sprinkled with some sugar and some curry just to spice up his life and his mindset a little bit. Evan says, absent-minded professor. Pete says he's not a genuine scientist. He's assessing full data. Maybe. Yeah. Cindy's going is going hard. She's going brutal. I think she'd take away his degrees. That's rough. But you know what? I'm a bit flustered with this man. Dino says, never believe experts. Yeah, yeah. I want to touch on that just for a second. Sometimes I'll read articles or like even just headlines. And the headline says, expert says this. And they have almost like no credentials to back them up or never heard of them, never written a book or an article. And they're like, expert writes, expert says this. And I say, I mean, do we have to believe experts? The answer is no. But we are using a level of credibility, a title to make them sound authoritative of you need to believe this person because they are a blank, right? They are a doctor. They have a PhD. They are an expert in this topic, right? I've had people, I've done shows before and they've written a title once that said, ufo expert and I wrote to them and I said please don't write that please don't write that as the title like I I'm flattered thank you I'm flattered but no uh there are no experts in the ufo field there are ufologists okay that's us that's you and I but I have never come across ever come across a ufo expert because in my opinion as of now I don't think we have them as of yet. And you can disagree with me. That's okay. And if you do, throw me a name on who you think is a UFO expert. Because I want to know. I got to talk to them to get their knowledge. So let me know down below. Oh, yeah. Scott says, doctor recommended. Which doctor? Like four out of five dentists say this toothpaste is the best. Where are you getting these dentists from? Right? We all want to know. We all have these questions. Now we're going to simmer down a little bit, just a touch. Getting into our next article, while you're still answering my question, Chris says, just trust me, bro, right? That's the world that we've always lived in. Hey, hey, hey, just trust me. You're like, maybe not. Maybe not. We're going to simmer down, get into our next one. Because Rep Timbersheds has introduced the Defense Against Drone Act. This is, I don't know why we didn't get this sooner. But let's talk about this because it is a groundbreaking piece of legislation that would fundamentally alter the relationship between private citizens and unarmed aerial vehicles. See that wording there? That's important because the the the bills, its core. provision would grant Americans the unprecedented level legal authority to neutralize drone operating below two hundred feet over their property. This has been an issue for quite some time, especially during the New Jersey incident, during the holidays in November and December and still up until today. But what we're looking at stories and cases that have been investigated by the FAA, for instance, of drones hovering below two hundred feet. One, it is illegal because they can look in people's homes and that's a safety concern. But now what Tim is doing here is that he wants to put the power in the hands of the people where If there is a drone that is hovering below two hundred feet and you feel uneasy about it and you have a gun license, you can just shoot at it. Like that's the definition of America. It is. It is. But but there's a lot more to this. OK, I'm simplifying it here. But the legislation includes a mandatory reporting clause. Any successful drone being shot down must be reported to the Federal Aviation Administration within sixty days, providing the drones registration number if recoverable. There's a lot of loopholes in this. You can find a lot of gaps in this. And not everyone is happy with it. But... Tim, his constituents in East Tennessee reported unauthorized drone surveillance over private residences, coinciding with the Tennessee National Guard's documentation of similar aerial incursions over multiple military installations. And the severity of these incidents prompted the Guard to petition the state legislator for enhanced security appropriations. Now, I know I touched on it, but maybe you might have missed it. Why are we talking about this? Because this legislation doesn't exist in isolation. It's crucial to understand that Burchette has established himself, as we know, as a prominent advocate for UAP disclosure and government transparency. So this bill represents another facet of his comprehensive strategy, so they say, to address UAP UFOs and enhance civilian oversight over our airspace. And he's really highlighting the recent event in New Jersey. So. I feel like it's a cat, too, and that phrase is very relevant talking about guns here. Yeah, it's twenty two. You get it. OK, I'm sorry. That was like a pretty bad joke. But one of the biggest things as to why this stands out is do you remember when News Nation they went to New Jersey? They spoke to the New Jersey sheriff and the sheriff said. We can't do anything. My men can't shoot these down because they do not have authorization by the FAA or the FBI. We do not have any drone interception technology. So we can't do anything about it. So they were left helpless. They couldn't protect their citizens. The people were uneasy. The sheriff and the police department were uneasy. Tim noticed this, I'm assuming. And he says, we got it. We got to pass this law, which it has not been passed by the way. All right. Just putting that out there. It's been proposed, but it has not been passed. I'm just allowing people to shoot down drones if they are below two hundred feet. And if you have a gun license. Right. Now, as for drone companies, those that work with drones within the government, they are a hundred percent against this, which I expect nothing less from them. I really don't. But they are saying that drones are used to provide medicine, to protect the border, all of these different things. And if you shoot them down, it's going to practically hinder society. That's where the flaws lie. But I'm going to guess here that in the law world, That's been proposed. There's probably little details in there talking about that. What are going to be the consequences for those that just shoot them down for practice, right? Like aiming practice. Where are the rules? Who's going to be looking all of this over? I feel like there's more to this. Do I think it's going to be passed? Honestly, I don't. I don't have expectations that it will go through all the people it has to go through. But I do like the fact that Tim Burchette is... Using this to be able to allow people, I guess in this case, to protect themselves. So that's very American thinking, isn't it? I know it is. I know it is. But I'm going to ask you this question. What do you think the pros and the cons are for this? Because it's very sensitive. It's very sensitive. Also depends on what part of the world you're from. Because the U.S. and part of the amendments of the right to bear arms, Other parts, they're like, you're out of your mind. Other countries saying, are you crazy? Like, that is insane. Now, in the U.S., it's just another thing. It's normal. So I want to ask you this question. What are the pros? What are the cons to this? And do you think it's going to get passed? I feel like it was a very bold move to make. But you know what? Maybe, maybe it will get passed. I'm kind of lost for words now john says it's a really bad idea anyone can abuse the law right so yeah it's not super positive margaret says bad idea all work says probably won't get passed I agree I don't think it's gonna get passed at this rate cindy says this the stuff they shoot could be authorized drones that's right they could be and then what happens then do you pay for the drone that you shot down that you shouldn't have right like what what are the fees for that scott says he obviously doesn't fly drones chris says yeah bad idea only military or cops So only military and cops can shoot them down and not civilians? Is that what you mean? Because, okay, that part doesn't seem so bad. Bob says it's a good idea. All right. We're getting we're getting one thumbs up and a bunch of thumbs down on this one. If you're enjoying the show, hit that like button right down below and subscribe. If you like UFO news, case studies, interviews and more. Got an interview coming up. It's awesome. OK, it's it's in the editing process right now. But it's you're going to love it. It's awesome. Critical Mindset says, so if I fly my four thousand drone with an FAA license over some moron's house that can just shoot at it if it is below two hundred feet. So if it's like literally hovering next to someone's home facing the window. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. That's why just don't fly drones in public areas. Get those nice nature drone shots where there are no homes, right? Then you could use it there. That'd be nice. But you shouldn't even be flying drones in any public space anyway. Like you shouldn't be flying them in neighborhoods. I know realtors and like realtor photographers have their own things to deal with. But your average Joe, get the nature shots, right? So pretty. So lovely. So with this first article, very heated. What the heck? This second article also, what the heck? But this third one, same. This third article, I also thought, what on earth? Why are they doing this? Let me explain. So in Texas, an Austin-based real estate company recently analyzed six thousand UFO reports submitted to New Forks since nineteen ninety five. As soon as I read this, I thought out of everybody to do an analysis. Why on earth? Why would a real estate company like Bramlett want to conduct any research out of anyone. Why real estate? There are some ideas as to why they did it, but I got to give you some background on what they found because their findings show a clear pattern of siting concentrations with Houston at four hundred and seventy two documented cases since nineteen ninety five using New Fork alone. Austin following three hundred and seventy eight reports and San Antonio taking third place with three hundred and twelve. And to give you an idea, here's Houston, here's Austin and here's San Antonio. So looking at the south of Texas, some of these areas like Houston is close to Vatter. And we know there's a nod connection between UFOs and water, right? Interesting. Now, as for Austin and San Antonio... San Antonio, you have, I think you have a river going through it. So there's a water base there. And as for Austin, I mean, all aliens are in Austin, just like how there are in LA. So that part is no surprise. But looking at county level data, so if you're from Texas, like this information is for you. Harris County, which includes Houston and Katy metropolitan area, tops the list with heavily populated and then you have other places like travis and bexar counties to see more they're more active surprisingly than these rural areas but you might ask why the heck Would a real estate business company want to cover this? Like, how does it benefit them? So I went ahead and I started looking and I said, how are they benefiting from this? What are they doing? Why are they doing this? Here is what I found is that this angle is is pretty clever for their business. By examining UFO sightings, the Bramlett Real Estate has found an innovative way to demonstrate their knowledge of Texas communities while generating significant social media attention. where now there's a bunch of articles writing about this, which I found on my website at ufonews.co, ad-free, completely free, and it is a great resource to do your UFO research. Bookmark it, ufonews.co. But they've also really tapped into a very unique marketing angle because some property buyers actually consider UFO activity when choosing where they want to live. And we know Texas has a rich UFO history, like the one that we are seeing here, the one in Loveland. and then the stevenville as well just to name I don't know two oh aurora three and there's a lot more but those are the most famous ones so when people are buying homes they are considering ufo activity whether they are attracted to it or they want to buy a place as far as possible and you know what I actually didn't even consider this if I ever buy a home I will be looking at the most populated UFO sighting areas and get a place there. A nice little cabin, an extra piece of land to get some nice animals and chickens. You know, like living the American dream of just having land, having animals, a nice little home. nice and cozy, right? I would like that. But now if I ever get one, I will be looking for the UFO hotspots. I don't know why I didn't think about that earlier, right? So it is some pretty smart thinking and it's very out of the box for a real estate business. don't you think? Out of all the... Excuse me. Out of all the articles that we covered today, which one was your favorite? Let me know in the live chat. Let me know in the comments as well. I liked all of these. I mean, I always do. That's biased, right? But this week has been very interesting with UFO news, and the week just started as well, which is nice. I got a lot to do. But... I really liked all of them. So I want to pass this one over to you. Dino says Sedona, Arizona, I'm guessing is a UFO hotspot, which we know there's been a lot of data collected, mainly by UFO researcher, ufologer, Cheryl Costa. And a guy in his room, nice name, says maybe some alien pets. Oh, yes, definitely alien pets, some cats, some dogs, some chickens, maybe a horse. That'd be fun. I'd like that as well. Blood Moon says, Texas is nice. All right. Chris, we're on the same page. I like all the cases. You and me both. I enjoyed all of them. I like them all, says Margaret. Nice. There is. Is it this one? I like that one. Isn't it nice? First story wins, says Evan. First story got me heated up. I was a little upset, as you could tell. And Scott, thank you so much for the super chat. Another great show. I really appreciate you watching this live and everyone watching this live, by the way. Hit that like button right down below if you haven't already.
