The implications of the UFO topic permeate many sectors of society. The very possibility that they could represent vehicles piloted by non-human intelligences from another world challenges us as a civilization to ask paradigm shifting questions about ourselves, and our place in the Universe.
In this episode, Cristina Gomez talks with Dr. Diana Pasulka about those implications, especially in regards to religion.
Diana Walsh Pasulka is a professor of religious studies at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington.
Works include American Cosmic (Oxford University Press 2019), Heaven Can Wait (Oxford University Press 2014), as well as two co-authored books about religion and technology and academic essays, podcasts, and lectures. She is the head editor, in cooperation with the Vatican and the Esalen Center for Theory and Research, of the translation project of the canonization records of the saint, Joseph of Copertino. Her current book is Contact 21, a continuation of the research of American Cosmic.
Dr. Pasulka’s research spans Catholic history to modern day reports of UAPs and UFOs. American Cosmic has been featured in mainstream presses such as Vice, Vox, Fox News, Tank, The Los Angeles Review of Books, Publisher’s Weekly, and Kirkus Reviews. Dr. Pasulka has been interviewed by The History Channel, Showtime, as well as being featured on podcasts including Vox Media’s Ezra Klein, Mysterious Universe, Coast to Coast, and Lex Fridman.
