Here are all the strange news articles of the week that you might have missed in the news. Today we'll be covering a more unknown UFO hotspot. UFO whistleblower David Grush is taking legal action and suing. Two astronauts have found themselves unexpectedly stranded in space for over 50 days. Scientists theorize that Mercury may harbor a significant amount of diamonds and more. We have so much to cover. I'm super duper excited. Let's get straight into this. First covering the UFO hotspot. So according to the National UFO Reporting Center, aka New Fork, there have been 1,279 UFO sightings reported in 2024 as of July 19th, with June having the most reports at nearly 300. Now, What state are we talking about in the United States? We're talking about Maine, because Maine ranks the 32nd in the country for total UFO sightings, with 1,201 recorded over time. And then in 2024 alone, this is crazy, Maine has reported 12 sightings across various locations, including Waterboro, Booth Bay, Windham, Paris, York, Hermann, and Dover, Foxcroft, Naples, Seasport, and Richmond. So for those living in Maine or have visited Maine, raise your hand, hit that like button as well, because usually when we think of UFO hotspots, one of the last places we consider is Maine. We think of California, we think of Washington, Oregon, Arizona, maybe even Utah as well. If you really wanted to say like Texas, they've had some pretty interesting UFO sightings, you might think of that. When it comes to Maine, It was definitely a shocker. Now, here's a really fun fact for those that like fun facts such as myself. Because Maine actually had one of the first documented sightings in America in Boston back in 1639. Do you know who I'm talking about? If you follow this for some time, you know what I'm referring to. Because I'm referring to Winthrop. because he wrote that there was a man by the name of James Everill. And he described in his diary that James was a very sober and decent man. He would never lie. And supposedly when James had told Winthrop the encounter, they had missing time and in a totally different location while on a boat, it was him and several other people. That had to be one of the first documented UFO sightings in the United States. And we got to thank Maine for that. So with that being said, I feel that maybe it's not so crazy that Maine is a UFO hotspot. But when we take a step back and we zoom out from Google Maps, it seems that practically the entire world has some form of UFO sighting, something strange. So then can it can't it all be a UFO hotspot in some way? What do you think? I want to ask you those that are in the live chat and obviously those watching this on replay as well. And I'm really excited because today not only am I streaming on YouTube, but I'm streaming on TikTok for the very first time. So I have like two screens going on here. And you can find me on official Christina Gomez because there I'll be doing more lives on TikTok that you're not going to be finding on YouTube. So please, those links are in the description box below to follow me on TikTok to watch those more fun and I would say more interactive lives. So I want to ask you, have you been to Maine? Have you seen anything strange in Maine? And could you have imagined that Maine was a weird UFO hotspot? Marty says, sadly, I've never been to Maine. It's okay, me neither. But it seems like a very beautiful place. They have beautiful seasons. They have all like amazing autumn, right? That's what I want to see so bad. Chris says, I don't use TikTok. It's okay. For those that do, that link is in the description box below. Now, I know it's not for everyone, but it's a good place to be from time to time. Charles says, 1639? Wow, so early, way too early. It's kind of crazy, but there was a show that Jimmy and I did some time ago talking about UFO sightings that took place in medieval times and also sightings that took place right before the Wright brothers in the very early 1900s. How could those have been explained away? And if you haven't seen that particular show, I think I have a bunch that we've done together. That is one that I do really recommend because those kinds of sightings are a bit more difficult to brush off as swamp gas or drones or hot air balloons and things like that. So it's a really, really good one. Moving on to our next one, talking about, because of course we got to mention Grush in this, because it seems that it's been almost, well, it's been a little over a year since Grush, Graves, and Fravor gave their UFO testimony to Congress in July of 2023. And for those that aren't aware, he is a retired Air Force officer who, again, just previously testified to Congress about alleged secret US government UFO programs. Now, here's the crazy part. Because he filed a $2.5 million lawsuit against the Lunden County Sheriff Mike Chapin and an unidentified sheriff's office employee. Why? Because you remember last year where we got public information that Grush had to go through some kind of psychiatric... testing and evaluation. Do you remember that? It was released by The Intercept last year. And Grush is saying that should not have been released through FOIA. That's my personal information. And so we're looking at a year later, and he's now pressing charges for $2.5 million on the issue, stating that to the sheriff department saying, that's a no-go. You should not have done that. Now, the sheriff department in that area is saying we were just doing our job. We were just doing as we were told in the sense of, like, we were just complying with the FOIA request, the Freedom of Information Act. And Grush isn't buying it. So he's putting money on the line, number one, because having a lawsuit isn't free. But he's asking for $2.5 million. And you know what? That's a lot of dough. Now, for the government, for sheriff departments, it's not that much. So I kind of hope... that it goes in his favor for him. But in this case, do you think it's a good idea to release that kind of medical information? And my question is, why did it take him so long to press charges? That's my question right there. Maybe there's a reason for it, that he had to go through a lot of loopholes and issues to... get there, right? Did he have to wait a year? These are the questions that I have because the lawsuit was filed on July 16th, so last week or so. It's been, what, 11 days? 11 days ago. And so it's pretty interesting. Brian says, private health care, and thank you for that. You know what? Maybe. Marty says, I'm team Grush. P says, HIPAA violations. It seems like it. And yes, heights releasing his medical records referring to PTSD. Yes. So it's just overall, my biggest question is, or maybe like even my biggest red flag is why did it take him a year to file that lawsuit? And maybe someone here in the live chat or even in the comments might have an answer to that just because we haven't received that information as of yet. And yeah, Grush is very selective on how he approaches the public and who he speaks to. So we haven't heard from him on why he said that. Now, 8 Flora says the legal system takes time. You know, it does. It takes like years and years of time. And what if it's by design? I just spilled some water. That's okay. But I feel like that is pretty good advice. And very interesting information, especially when talking about Strangest News of the Week. We definitely have to talk about that. So let's get on to our next one. And actually, while we're still in the conversation of the UFO witness hearing, Azcapul was able to speak to Ana Paulina Luna yesterday. And they asked her, should we expect a UAP hearing this year in 2024? And Anna says, we were supposed to get one in August, but obviously things didn't develop. And so hopefully we'll get it on the books for September or October, but we are for sure doing one. If you remember last year, they were saying, we're going to get one in December. We're going to get something hot in December, referring to UFOs and the government transparency disclosure and all of that fun stuff. And then here we are already in July of 2024, and we haven't heard that much information from them to keep being persistent on pushing the bull to get more information. What I will say is that about six weeks ago now, the Department of Energy was being, I don't want to use the word prosecuted here, for the protocols for when UFOs are being seen over nuclear facilities. And Ana Paulina Luna asked, well, what are the protocols? What's going on here? Because obviously there's an interest with these craft in the sky coming over nuclear facilities. We've seen them with the Vandenberg Air Force Base, seen them with the Maelstrom Air Force Base. We've seen it in the one in the Ukraine as well. And there are several others, but those three have to be one of the most famous ones. You can even say Rendleship as well. And the Department of Energy administrator said, oh, I can tell you that behind closed doors, but there's nothing to see here. UFOs aren't a real thing. And if there are UFOs, they're actually drones. And she said, what about before drones were created? What then? And the administrator said, oh, I'll tell you behind closed doors. So I'm looking forward to see what this next hearing is going to hold, who they're going to be inviting, what the talking points will be. Because the reason to why they're doing this, it's not to disclose government secret projects, black projects and all of that. What these people are really doing, Tim Burchette, Anna Paulina Luna, Matt Gaetz, Moscovich as well. They just want to know where this money is going since several government offices, including the Pentagon, have not been able to pass an audit. They're not able to. And all this money is being thrown into UFOs and UFO research since the 1950s, by the way. But We, you and I, and these congressmen don't really know where this money is going. And that's the stance that they're taking when really pushing for this, quote, UFO disclosure. And they've mentioned that publicly before. This isn't an assumption. This isn't an opinion. Tim Burchett has mentioned that firsthand. They want to know where the money is going. It's not about green little men, as he said. So. It's very interesting. Testing. I know people are saying that my mic is not doing right, which is kind of weird because I'm on the right output. Thank you guys for checking. Does that sound better? Are we sounding a little better, everybody? John says, taxpayers deserve to know. I am with you on that one. Of course we deserve to know because we're the ones paying them for it. So I get it. Nope says that the mic is not sending through YouTube. That's weird. I'm glad people are saying that. This mic setting. I don't like that one. Let's try this one. We are live, s o you just gotta... How is that sounding? Is that sounding better? Oh, you had it? That's better, Christina. Okay, cool. Okay, we're good. We're better. Awesome. Everyone's saying good? Yes! Okay, cool. Getting into our next one, and thank you to everyone that corrected me on the microphone. I know I'm a few moments behind. Well, a lot of people are saying no. Okay. Okay. I'll just go to my old setting that I don't love. But we'll go to this one. Okay. How is that? Are we doing good? This is better? Okay. I think we're good now. Even though I don't love this particular setting, we're just going to go with it for today. So we've got a lot of interest when it comes to the government, Rush, and a new hearing today. But this guy has to bring us in to space because, you know what? The Boeing Starliner has just not been getting a good rap since 2019. They have been doing test after test, failure after failure. And this is another one in 2024. Boeing is so behind for this space race. It's actually appalling. So these two astronauts right here that we're looking at by the name of Sunita Williams and Barry Butch Wilmore have been unexpectedly stranded on the International Space Station for over 50 days, which is far beyond their planned eight day mission. They're planning to be there for a week and a little bit to have a good time, run some experiments and to have a bit of a laugh. Now they're stuck there for 50 because Boeing can't get their stuff together. Yeah. And so NASA and Boeing are currently working to resolve the issues with the Starliner, but have not yet announced a return date for the astronauts, even though we're kind of guessing this 50-day window. And officials have maintained that the spacecraft is likely safe enough, safe enough, which you never use the word enough when it comes to space anything, for a return flight. But they're not taking that chance. Now, they are proceeding with caution and conducting future reviews on this new Starliner, how it's turning out. But... When you have failures when it comes to space, that is the equivalent to death and a really bad rep. I mean, just like bad, horrible media publicity. So now these two people are stuck at the ISS. I don't know how that's working out for them. They're there with, you know, an eight-day food supply, right? And who knows what other supplies. And now they're there for a little bit longer than expected. Being... Unwanted guests, probably. Luckily, they do have the knowledge of the International Space Station in the sense of how it works, the experiments that are being conducted, and so they are participating with the other ISS members in doing specific experiments. experiments and receiving lab results and things like that. But it takes some time to get cozy with somebody, right? And you feel like eight days, it's okay. They come and go. It's not that big of a deal. But 50, that's when you're really beginning to share a significant amount of resources. Now, Terrence says, I hope they brought snacks. Me too. For two reasons. One, we all need snacks. Two, the only way to make friends is through snacks. And that would be a great way for them to succeed in the ISS friendship. And no parachutes, says Rick. I know. I'm with these guys. Marty says they are likely eating peanut butter out of a tube. You know, full of protein, some sugar, but it just makes you really thirsty, right? So it's like a give and take. It's good in some places, dehydrating in others. Oh, and Loki says another four astronauts are about to go to the ISS. Do you know when that's happening, when they're going to be there? Because maybe they'll just do a flip-flop, right? They'll get the four new astronauts, and then these two, Williams and Wilmore, will return maybe earlier than expected. They probably already thought of that, but who knows? Sounds kind of interesting there. But looking at space, here's a cool picture of the two of them. We're moving on over to Mercury, the closest planet, well, the smallest planet in our solar system. And it may have a hidden diamond crevasse, just the whole thing. not the crust, but just right below the crust, might be filled with diamonds. Forget about mining asteroids, everybody. Mine mercury and get all of the good resources that you need. And this new research was published in the Nature Communications. And so scientists believe that this diamond layer is could be up to 11 miles thick and located about 300 miles beneath the planet's surface at the core mantle boundary. And this theory helps explain why Mercury's hot carbon content, dark graphite-covered surface, and unusually strong magnetic field for its size. When we are also looking at Mercury, In the daytime, it reaches temperatures to about 800 degrees Fahrenheit or 430 degrees Celsius. And then at night, you won't believe this, it drops to as low as negative 290 degrees Fahrenheit or negative 180 degrees Celsius. How can you jump that high to that low? Yes, we actually have the answers to that. We are able to see that happen at the Sahara Desert or the Gobi Desert. But the thing is that like those jumps from 800 degrees Fahrenheit to negative 290 degrees. I am truly lost for words on how that works, especially how the atmosphere and even the surface isn't able to retain that heat for those few hours where it's not being exposed to sunlight or it's able to drop like that I know brown like that is that is my face right there is that emoji just just pure shock it's awesome geez it's just yeah Allwork says, talk about extreme and extreme climate. Yes, it is truly unbelievable. I know. But you know what else is crazy? Besides this beautiful picture? Kimono dragons. First of all, they are one of the biggest lizard reptiles out there. And they are super venomous. Their saliva will just coagulate your blood, which is terrifying. But there's something else that we've just learned about these guys. And that is that their teeth are coated with a layer of iron. How did they get that? And how are these kimono dragons able to get this layer of iron on their teeth? And not only that, but on every tooth. And they... In the sense of, let me explain this. They lose... They lose about... Over the years, they can lose about 60... 60 amount of... Excuse me. I am losing my train of thought. Okay. So with Komodo dragons, they... You know how humans can lose their teeth twice when they are children and then into adulthood, right? Komodo dragons can do it 60 times. That's what I wanted to say. And so when you lose sets like that 60 times and each time there's this layer of iron that Can we just admire human nature for a moment, please? Just for a moment, because that is unbelievable. Now, Chris says I want one. I would say be very careful with them. They're not like cute little lizards. First of all, they're ginormous. Second of all, they have venomous saliva. And they have iron-coated teeth. That's pretty freaky stuff. I know I said human nature, but I'm not going to say nature. But we can also admire human nature as well to be able to understand these types of lizards. Because in 2009, that's when scientists first discovered their venomous bite. So all the years prior to that, since they are mainly local to Indonesia, they had no idea. They were just like, we just know that they're super duper dangerous. Never let them bite you. And then 2009, put them in a lab, and then we finally understood. So we can definitely appreciate human understanding, human innovation, and human nature here, but we can also just appreciate nature altogether to create creatures like this one. Truly, truly remarkable. Chris says, I still want one. You know what? I provided you the information, and if you still want one, I don't know who's going to give them out to you, but you can give it a try. Karen says shark teeth are unlimited equals monster soup. Yes, because the ocean is 100% monster soup. You don't really know what's lurking in there. Pretty crazy stuff. And I do want to say hello to everyone watching this on TikTok as well. I'm looking over here. Hi there. Thank you for being here. And for those all watching this live on YouTube as well, hello. Thank you for being here. Now, we have some honorable mentions. And this one... has to deal with the Yellowstone geyser explosion that took place July 23rd. Did you hear about this? This is pretty significant, in all honesty, in all reality, because a hydrothermal explosion occurred at the Yellowstone's Biscuit Basin on July 23rd, sending mud, water, and debris hundreds of feet into the air from the Black Diamond Pool. And the explosion caused significant damage to a nearby boardwalk and also altered the landscape as well, but no injuries were reported. Now, looking at this, in the article, it also mentioned that some of the debris were the size of humans. Looking at five and a half, six feet tall, maybe the same weight as that as well. And people were very lucky to not be injured as you're not really able to be super close to this geyser. But even then, when it's shooting at such high, like, first of all, at a high altitude, but also due to its inconsistency, this hasn't happened since the early 2000s. So here we are, and we're like, we didn't actually know this was going to take place. When looking at Yellowstone, A lot of crazy things can happen with it. And it's just really understanding it and evaluating it and just looking at it every single day. Now, here's one of the boardwalks that was destroyed. And we're able to see that here on screen on YouTube and on Twitch as well because I'm also streaming on there. And as for TikTok, you'll have to find it on YouTube to look at all the images that I'm sharing with you. And then I have one final honorable mention because this one kind of made me laugh. You know how when we go to the grocery store, have it be CVS, for instance, right? Because everyone always bullies CVS. They give you the absolute longest receipts you could ever ask for. And you don't even ask for those receipts, right? They are super duper long. Archaeologists in Turkey discovered a 3,400-year-old cuneiform tablet That is supposedly a receipt. And we're seeing that on screen right here. And it mentioned that it purchased tables, some chairs, and other expensive furniture. You casually have pockets, maybe a bag, and you're on your shopping spree, buying groceries, buying furniture, and you're collecting all of these rocks, all of these clay tablets in your bag for receipts. Where are you going to put those? How is the accountant going to feel about that when you give them all to him or her? You know what I mean? It's going to be so heavy. It's a whole crate with receipts. And we complain about the paper ones that are super duper long, but that we can fold and put in our pocket and then put in the washing machine and forget about it. These ones were made out of clay, right? It just blows my mind. It really does that even in 3,400 years ago, we were still giving out receipts so that we could return items to prove that we've actually bought these items, right? All of these different things. Now, maybe we have to ask, did this receipt also have some coupon codes on it? If you buy from July to August, you'll get 20% off like we see at grocery stores today. Or you saved this much and you gained this many points, right? So you can upgrade to your next purchase. It's a serious question. It really is. Now, back in the day, they didn't have self-checkout like we do today. Things had to be done. And in this case, for this receipt, it had to be made right in front of them versus just getting a nice printed sheet of paper truly remarkable all work says lol on the back return this tablet to get 10 off your next purchase yeah that's kind of funny though that is Now, out of all the articles that we covered today, which one was your favorite? Let me know in the live chat. Please let me know in the comments as well. I do always enjoy hearing what your favorite article was. And for myself, I think it's really cool to be able to see the developments of our understanding of space and how Mercury might have miles and miles of diamonds. I'm looking forward to the new UAP UFO hearing that should take place in September, October, which is coming in really close. And so I'd like to see that, who they're going to bring, what their talking points will be. But I'd like to ask you that question. What was your favorite topic for today? Because I do want to know. Eight floor says discounts. Hey, probably. You know what? We all love a good discount. Charles says, And the Komodo dragon stuff. Yes, that is so great. Now, Moon says the ISS story. Love science fiction. Good stuff. Marty says Boeing space goof. I know the Boeing. They just have not been doing that great since 2019 when it comes to their starliner and just really understanding how to make rockets all together. So actually, a lot of people were enjoying the Komodo dragon. Nice, nice. Well, that is it for today. I will see you next time. Be safe. And remember, keep your eyes on the skies. if you enjoy the strange and the mysterious ufos the paranormal and cryptids this channel is for you so make sure to subscribe as I do three videos right here every single week and hit that notification bell so you do not miss any of the bonus content I post right here
