Did China Really Shoot Down a UFO?

Two stories broke out this week. First, bright lights exploded over China, with claims that authorities shot down a UFO. Second, a man in Panama says alien life is growing from a meteorite he found. One involves planetary defence technology, the other alien life. As always, I'm here to report the information without bias and you can decide what to believe. Friday night, September 12th, 2025, residents across the Shandong province witnessed something pretty remarkable, a bright fireball streaking across the sky before vanishing in a flash. Local witnesses reported hearing two loud bangs resembling artillery shells, followed by a bright object plummeting earthward. This footage, quickly spread across social media, sparked intense speculation. Many users suggested this was evidence of China testing its planetary defence systems, essentially shooting down an incoming asteroid. Others claimed it was a UFO interception. However, Chinese authorities have dismissed these theories, stating they received no information about any interception operations altogether. Here's the video in full screen and there is no audio.

OK, here is why this story becomes important. China has been actively developing planetary defence capabilities with plans to hire 3 planetary defence specialists whose responsibilities include research on near Earth, asteroid monitoring and early warning. This country aims to launch its first defence mission by 2030 to showcase skills needed to nudge a dangerous asteroid away from Earth. But this also aligns with the Hellfire missile case released by Eric Burlison during the latest UFO hearing. This mission would use a single launch to both observe and impact a near Earth asteroid, specifically targeting asteroid 2015 XF 261, which is roughly 30 metres in diameter. And this mission designed involves 2 spacecraft, an impactor and an observer that are launched together. The observer would first study the asteroid before guiding the impactor to strike it, then monitor the results. But it would also be convenient to use similar technology to intercept UFOs.

Now, this all comes as asteroid 2024 YR4, estimated to be between 40 and 60 metres wide, now ranks as the highest risk asteroid on the ESA watch list, with a 2.2% probability of hitting Earth in seven years. Which is really small, but always worth being a little cautious about these things. And China's announcement underscores the country's growing ambitions in space, positioning the nation at the forefront of planetary defence technologies while signaling its rising influence in outer space affairs. And this follows NASA's DART mission in 2022, which demonstrated that asteroid trajectories can indeed be altered through kinetic impact.

Now, switching gears to our second story, a viral sensation from Panama that is very different in narrative. A TikTok user by the name of @kinpanama from Pedregal Panama began posting on August 29th documenting what he claimed was alien life slowly emerging from a meteorite. And this footage shows what initially appeared to be a rock developing a gelatinous greenish yellow substance that transforms into a dark, more elaborate structure. And the user dubbed it an interplanetary visitor and claimed that it smelled like burning flesh, with the odor intensifying over time. Now these videos quickly went viral, with some viewers nicknaming the creature Venom due to the alien like appearance. And the audio details how long it's been since he found it, giving a timeline on how fast it's growing and how it smells burnt. In the video, the audio is translated into text.

This next one shows the thing a few days later and the owner has to block all the light in the house. Now, each of these videos are averaging about 1 million views and the comments are all over the place. Many believe it is real, some say it's a promotion for the new Venom movie, and others think it is a complete hoax but still invested in the story for sheer entertainment. Now, as for the experts, they believe this is likely devil's fingers or octopus stinkhorn, a fungus which has a global distribution. And the young fungus erupts from an egg by forming into four to seven elongated slimmer arms. But the apparent movement captured in the viral videos is likely, according to the experts, insects feeding inside the decaying fungus, contributing to its eerie effect. But here is a short video I made about a year ago on the Devil's Fingers fungus that might be more interesting to watch. Isn't just creepy looking, but it also smells like rotting flesh. With bright red tentacles and reaching up to 7 centimetres long, the Devil's Fingers fungus is like a hand crawling out of the grave. But here's the twist. The fungus isn't native to Britain. It hitched a ride from Down Under during World War One, hiding in military supplies. The tentacles are covered in a foul smelling spore containing slime. The odor, reminiscent of rotting flesh, attracts flies and other insects which inadvertently spread the spores as they visit the fungus. Interestingly, this alarming smell and appearance isn't actually poisonous to humans. However, the strong odor and the slimy texture makes it very unappealing to eat.

However, here's the red flag if he still has it. This guy in Panama, which we don't even know his name, post videos about it and no one has taken a look at it. That is a little strange. If we look at past events such as the Buga sphere, the Betz sphere, the Roswell debris, just alien debris in general, is very quickly swept up, or at least the people in possession get reached out by different agencies to gain control of the material. So this one sticks out like a sore thumb. Here is a clip of Dr. Steven Greer talking about the incident with the Buga sphere during the Mexico City conference back in June. If this is happening back in June, it should probably be happening with this venom like creature in Panama.

And so any sort of attempts to interfere with this examination will be known and the people and perpetrators will be held to account for.
