Before alien abductions became a cultural phenomenon there was Army private first class Jerry Irwin a man whose strange experience in 1959 would challenge our understanding of memory from in coverups and the unknown on the night of February 20th 1959 Irwin was driving along a lonely stretch of highway in the high desert of Southern Utah and route from Idaho to Fort Bliss Texas suddenly the dark when he finally regained conscious ious in the hospital his first words (01:33) were were there any survivors to Irwin's surprise and confusion he had no recollection of any of the events after leaving his car after observation at Cedar City Hospital Irwin was flown back to Fort Bliss aboard the commanding General's plane and admitted to a psychiatric ward for further examination despite being released with a clean bill of health Irwin's experience bu got more bizarre including fainting spells and memory loss the most puzzling incident occurred after Irwin's release from a (02:09) 32-day hospital stay in a trans-like state he returned to Utah without permission he walked directly to a spot where his missing jacket was hanging on a bush an area previously searched and there was no jacket found by the way and a pencil was inserted through one of the button holes with the piece of paper wrapped around it unexplainably Irwin burned the note without reading it the scent of burning paper snapped him out of the trance but he suddenly realized he was awal according to the reports at the time Irwin was never seen again (02:45) after the incident or at least so we thought according to the book no return the Jerry Irwin story UFO Abduction or CT operation the author and researcher David Boer did some serious digging on the case How could a person working for the military seeing something strange in the sky just disappear never to be seen again there's a lot more to the story than what meets the eye or a casual search online let's fast forward a little bit two UFO researchers that were heavily involved in the investigation of (03:21) the Jerry Irwin case and actually spoke to him before he went awal was coral and Jim laenen the military's intense interest in the case was immediately evident Irwin was flown back to Fort Bliss on the commanding General's plane and subjected to multiple hospital stays and psychiatric evaluations on March 27th 1959 Irwin was injected with sodium amital also known as the truth serum it provoked a strange response from Irwin which caught Captain Valentine's deep attention here's what Captain Val valine (04:00) mentioned irn stated there was a special intelligence that he couldn't explain to me since it would be incomprehensible to me which has directed him not to remember or not to tell me about any of the events in Utah he says that if he tells what was behind the incident in Utah there will be a big investigation that he does not want to be bothered with and also because it will harm many people and doesn't want that to happen he stated it all began at the age of three years although he will not reveal how or what began stating that it would (04:35) provide a clue to me as to what is behind all of this Freedom of Information Act has also shown that the military despite dosing Irwin with drugs and Tred to uncover the true story of the knight in the desert of 1959 Drew nothing but blanks but the words of Captain Valentine strongly suggested he suspected there was much more to the story than what met the eye and particularly so considering that Irwin had alluded to the fact that something happened to him at the age of three it should be noted that the alien abduction (05:10) phenomena usually starts at a very young age it's also believed that during his time in the ward he experienced electroshock therapy as this was more common practice in the late 50s into the 60s within psychiatric Wards also once he got out his speech turned more into a stutter and increased speech impediment and he suffered more severe memory loss according to Captain Valentine despite extensive efforts the military's investigation failed to uncover a definitive explanation for Irwin's experiences on August 1st 1959 Irwin (05:50) failed to report for Duty and was later listed as awal for years it was believed that Irwin had vanished Without a Trace adding a layer of mystery to this case however the story doesn't end there according to Dave boer's book no return Irwin was eventually found Boo's research revealed that after the incident Irwin went awall for 81 days living in a tent and working in a mine he was avoiding the military to gather his thoughts feeling that they weren't helping his condition but here's the (06:23) crazy part once he was apprehended he was very quickly shipped to Germany and then to a Austria on a covert Mission when interviewed by Boer in the early 2000s Irwin was already in his 70s and Irwin's memories were fragmented a bit he confirmed some aspects of the original story but differed on others he remembered the initial sighting his Hospital stay and being questioned but many details remained elusive his story was detailed In Articles like Soldier sees flash unconscious 24 hours by UFO researcher coral laenen and in Jaques (07:04) Vallee's book dimensions a casebook of alien contact presents a puzzling series of events so here's what we know based off of the paper trail Irwin's medical records as documented by Captain Valentine and other Physicians reveal three distinct Amnesia episodes the first occurred during his initial 24-hour blackout in Utah the second on March 15th 1959 preceded a 32-day hospital stay the Third on July 9th 1959 involved Irwin approaching El Paso police in a state of confusion unaware of his identity or location these (07:46) episodes align with characteristics of disassociative Amnesia and fuk States conditions typically associated with psychological trauma but this only gets more interesting because this case caught the attention of famed psychiatrist Carl Yun in a letter to Coral laurenson Jong discussed a condition called ambulatory timism which is likened to a dissociative Fugue he Illustrated this with the case from 60 years earlier involving a man who disappeared from Australia and found himself in Switzerland Jung suggested (08:25) that Irwin's case might be similar and recommended hypnosis as the primary treatment with dream analysis as a secondary option but irn was never able to get any of his hypnosis sessions even though they were booked out under his name paid by Jim and coral Lauren in according to Irwin he was allegedly stopped by the military to go to his regression hypnosis sessions always given extra tasks and constantly not being able to make it to his booked out appointment Jong further noted that ambulatory optimism is often accompanied by (09:06) hysteria and occasionally by latent schizophrenia interestingly Irwin was indeed diagnosed with Hysteria by Dr Broadbent in Cedar City the mention of psychiatric Wards and electroshock therapy in Irwin's case does bring up some unsettling questions could his case have been part of the infamous MK program this covert CIA operation involved widespread human experimentation across 86 institutions often without subject's consent at McGill University's Allan Memorial Institute do Irwin Cameron subjected (09:48) patients to extreme treatments including de pattering to erase existing personalities and quote remaking them while we can't definitively link Irwin to MK Ultra the parallels are striking the military's intense interest the psychological treatments and the attempt to alter his memory all Echo known MK Ultra practices this raises a chilling question was Irwin's treatment a form of
